Artist Jeannine Savedra will present a demonstration and lecture on “A Painterly Approach to Landscape” 7 pm Tuesday, Feb. 22, at the Redlands Art Association Gallery.
The program is free and open to the public.
Savedra is a studio artist and plein air painter who loves to explore the outdoors, according to her website.
She received formal art training at Otis Art Institute, Parsons School of Design and Cal State Los Angeles, where she received a bachelor’s degree in studio art for drawing and painting. She also received a master’s degree and certification to teach art.
In 1995 she began teaching at the Visual Arts and Design Academy in Pasadena as the studio art instructor and as an art teacher for the South Pasadena High School Summer Arts Program. She was also a member of the adjunct faculty at Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles from 2003 to 2015.
Over the past 20 years she has worked as a restoration artist in Pasadena, assisting with the restoration of fine art for private art collectors, art dealers, artists’ estates and museums.
She is now on the art faculty at the Creative Arts Group in Sierra Madre, and she teaches in her studio.
